How can I enroll in a payment plan online?
You can enroll in an Early or Standard Payment Plan via the Department of Finance
website at https://parkingtickets.chicago.gov/PaymentPlanWeb/home.
Please ensure that you have your driver's license number or notice number
(10-digit number) on hand when enrolling.
Why do I have to provide an email address in order to enroll in an online payment plan?
The City requires an email address in order to send applicable payment plan notifications.
What if I don't have a personal computer or can't access the internet from my home?
You can visit any Chicago Public Library (CPL) and use a computer to sign up or manage
monthly payments. For library hours and locations please visit CPL's website at
www.chipublib.org.
I have multiple payment plans and made a payment on the wrong plan. What do I do?
Please contact customer service at (312)-744-7275 for assistance.
I am enrolled in an online payment plan and I paid more than the monthly minimum.
Does the additional amount paid go towards my next monthly payment?
Yes. A future monthly payment due is credited by the amount which was overpaid.
Why are some of my tickets missing from the "Eligible Violation(s)" page?
If your Driver's License Number is not associated with your violation(s),
they will not be reflected on the "Eligible Violation(s)" page. You may
call (312)744-7275 to have your driver's license number added to your account.
Why do I have to send in a copy of my Driver's License for my tickets to be online payment plan eligible?
Online payment plans require a driver's license number be associated with your tickets.
All of the tickets I selected for my online payment plan are not reflected on my receipt?
Only the ticket(s) to which the down payment was applied will appear on your receipt.
I cannot access the payment plan portal after I started an online payment plan
Because the processing of your online payment plan is in progress, your plan will not be available to view for 30 minutes.

Notice of Violation (NOV) indicates that a motorist has incurred a parking,
standing, compliance, automated speed enforcement and/or red light camera violation(s).
The motorist has the option to pay the fine amount, enroll in an Early Payment Plan
or request an in-person hearing, contest the violation online or contest the ticket
by mail prior to the Notice of Determination.

for more information on contesting violations.
Notice of Determination (NOD) indicates that a Determination has
been made on a parking, standing, compliance, automated speed enforcement and/or
red light camera ticket(s). There are three types of Determinations:
- Default Determination.
This type of determination indicates that a motorist has failed to pay
the fine amount or contest the violation and, therefore, is found to be
in default. In this situation, a motorist can pay the fine amount or go
to 400 W. Superior and request to "set aside" the Determination
(Motion to Set Aside) and have an immediate in-person hearing.
- Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Determination.
This type of determination indicates that an ALJ has reviewed the merits
of the case (either through an in -person, online or mailed contest) and
ruled in favor of the City. In this situation, a motorist can either
a) pay the fine amount or b) appeal the ALJ's decision by opening an
appeal with the Circuit Court of Cook County.
- Failure to Appear (FTA) Determination.
This type of determination indicates that the motorist failed to appear
at an in-person hearing and, therefore, is found to be in default. In this
situation, a motorist can pay the fine or go to 400 W. Superior,
2006 E. 95th Street, or 2550 W. Addison and request to âset asideâ the
determination (Motion to Set Aside) and have an immediate in-person hearing.
Notice of Final Determination (NOFD) indicates that the motorist has failed to
pay the violation and incurred a penalty. The motorist must pay the fine and the penalty.
Notice of Seizure (NOS) indicates that the motorist has accumulated either
a) three or more tickets in Final Determination status, or b) two or more violations
in Final Determination status that are at least a year old. The motorist must either
a) pay all fines, penalties, and fees or b) contest the validity of the Notice of
Seizure at an in-person hearing within 21 days of the Notice of Seizure. If the
motorist fails to pay or contest, the vehicle is subject to be seized ("booted").
